Get a Cheap Flight to Spain
Flights to Spain are available at low cost from many of the airports within the UK. Most of these fly from the Regional airports and are very good value. There are two main airports that are used for cheap flights to Costa Blanca, Spain:
- Alicante
- Murcia (St Javier)
Alicante is the larger of the two and is currently undergoing a major upgrade to open a new runway. Murcia on the other hand used to be a military airport, but for the past 5yrs has been operating cheap flights to Spain with some of the major operators - RyanAir, EasyJet and Flybe. There has been talk for many years of a new airport opening nearer to Murcia itself, but to date this has not happened. Murcia St Javier is however a great airport to fly to.

Getting the Best Deal for Cheap Flight to Spain
We have tried many of the flight operators ourselves and they are much of a much ness. Be careful when you look at the price of the flights offered, they can be ridiculously low.....some even for FREE! But remember the saying, "You don't get something for Nothing". Always check the cost including airport taxes & duties. This can add another £40 per person. There are a number of operators that do this for a pastime. The EU are looking into this practice...but that could be years away before it's stopped.
Money Saving Tips
When you know when you want to travel - Book the flight to Spain WITHOUT delay!
We always believed that flights would get cheaper nearer the flight time ...Wrong!!
The flights go up as you get closer to the flight date. As soon as a certain percentage of seats are sold, the price goes up. You have to trust us on this. This has cost us dearly and took us a while to understand. To get a cheap flight to Spain - you have to book your flights early. We have even delayed for a week before we booked...and paid an extra £15 per flight!
The cheapest flights are always outside the school holidays, but even that varies dependant on which area you are flying from. We have traveled to Scotland in the past and saved over £300 in flights as their school holiday times are different to that of England & Wales. Northern Ireland & Eire are also good choices...if you don't mind traveling there. Great if you live in these fabulous areas.
Don't always think that EasyJet are the cheapest ...they're not! BA have been offering some great bargains to get customers back after recent disputes. These now seem to be behind them and there is talk that they will be bought out by a major operator. Watch this space. You can check their prices out here:
Thomson & Thomas Cook offer some good deals. Check them out here:
To get a good comparison, I suggest you check E-Bookers. They used to be expensive and tended to concentrate on North America. This has now all changed in view of Europe expanding. They now compare all the operators under one site - an excellent start. Check them here. Note, there site is very slow to begin - you have to be patient, but its worth the wait.
I hope this helps you find a great deal on flights and saves you time and money.
