Costa Blanca Spain

| The Costa Blanca lies on the coast of southern Spain and stretches from Denia in the north to Pilar de la Horadada in the south for some 160km (100mi). It’s part of the region of Comunidad Valenciana and the Costa Blanca lies in the province of Alicante. |

Costa Blanca Spain, is the ideal destination with its bustling resorts, beautiful beaches and hidden gems.
Don't think of Costa Blanca Spain with the hustle & bustle of Benedorm. A resort that became popular in the late 50's. Personally I don't like the place much, with its skyscraper apartment blocks, crowded beaches and lively nightlife. If that's what you like, then each to their own. There is so much more to Costa Blanca Spain than this.
Discover Real Spain
The Costa Balnca region runs from the stunning town of Torrevieja in the south to the beautiful and un spoilt Denia in the North. It is bordered by the Med as well as Valencia and the Murcia region. With over 160 km's of coastline and enjoying over 300 days of sunshine a year, you can really enjoy an outdoor lifestyle wherever you are.
The regions capital is Alicante, which despite having a lot of tower blocks on the seafront, still retains a real Spanish feel. There are always Fiestas on the streets for you to enjoy.
North of Benedorm are the resorts of Denia and Javea. Denia is the home of some elegant 19th century buildings, and the port of Javea still retains its fishing port charm. Beaches run along the 25kms of coastline, but some are pebbly.
Make sure you visit the town of Villajoyosa - formerly the Spanish capital of chocolate making!. It has brightly coloured townhouses.
The place where we decided to purchase an apartment and use as a base is the cosmopolitan town of Torrevieja - in the south. It has an abundance of restaurants, bars, golf courses, beaches and marina. It is currently being transformed by the further development of the marina and esplanade. Out and About in Costa Blanca Spain
The coastline offers an abundance of water sports such as windsurfing, yachting, sailing, jet skiing and diving. The inland hills provide fantastic opportunities for hiking, horse riding, mountain biking and beautiful walks in the nature reserves. The countryside is home to plenty of flora and fauna. You will find fabulous nature resorts dedicated to bird watching and the famous flamencos.
For the younger person, or young at heart, there are numerous theme parks. Four of which are located in the Benedorm area (Terra Mitica, Terra Natura, Aqualandia and Mundamar). At Santa Pola you will find the Pola Park. To the west of Denia, there is the El Vergel safari park with over 1,400 animals. Don't forget to head to Villjoyosa's chocolate museum.
Food is fabulous with many specialties like seafood, locally caught fish and fantastic desserts.
To take full advantage of the region, it is essential that you rent a car from a reputable car hire company. We have listed the ones we have found the best value here.
